Sitcom actors are underrated. In the world of thespians, they are overlooked in favor of Broadway leads and the A-list stars of tinsel town.
Given that fact, it’s little wonder that John Ritter was an overlooked talent. He made his fame on Three’s Company, playing the bumbling Lothario Jack Tripper. But if you were like me, Ritter’s physical comedy was a shining light in your childhood. His antics always brought a smile to my face. Looking back, I realize that he was one of the great physical comedians of the modern era, in the tradition of Charlie Chaplin or Harpo Marx.
Some people have a natural repoire with the camera—Ritter was one of those stars. His bubbling personality came through the television, landing into the living rooms of countless Americans. The world was a better place because of him.

Ritter, I believe, also starred in an animated fantasy cartoon which ended with him chanting, “Trigonometry, algebra, calculus,” et cetera et cetera and banishing the evil fantasy villain with logic.
I remember Three’s Company too. I think part of the reason they picked him as the gay star was because of the gentle softness of his face, and his good-natured gaiety at life.

– There was also a good film he did entitled “Hero at Large,” where he played a guy who dons a Superman costume and tries to solve crimes in a metropolis. Like most things he did, it was not a classic in the Citizen Kane sense, but it was very human and entertaining.

I am getting together a group of Internet writers who I like a lot, under one umbrella. If you wrote for me, a lot of the pressure would be off you, because I would do all the advertising and promotion (I’m heavily working to get my name out there on the Net, and will be distributing advertising fliers throughout my home city of Toronto). Also, you wouldn’t be under a rush to write all the time. You could write three articles one day, and nothing for two weeks, and still have a fan base to come back to — because the other writers on Qedbook would be filling in the “dead space” for you. Give it some thought. If you like the idea, pick an image off Google Images that fits you. I have one other writer whom I’ve advised to pick a new name — but your name is PERFECT for you. I like it a lot. Keep the nick, and find the image.

I am commenting here, because I a can’t seem to respond to the comment below. At any rate, thank you for the offer and the positive feedback! It means a lot to me, since I (as I know you do as well) view this largely as a labor of love. I would love to contribute to the project. Let me know how to proceed…

Right on. I used to love watching Three’s Company when I was a kid. I hadn’t thought about John Ritter for years until I started watching The Americans, the lead in that show reminded me of him for some reason.
